Mill Barns Wedding Venue
Let’s go back, waaaaay back.
Ok, not quite that far back!
About 10 years ago I remember going for a family meal to The Mill at Alverley, a rather traditional hotel and restaurant, which sadly was burnt down in an arson attack. It was the kind of place that had silver service, starched uniforms and a dessert trolley.
It also had a lake and mature gardens and is less than 10 miles from Bridgnorth and less than 20 miles from Wolverhampton. So a great starting point for a Shropshire wedding venue.
Like a phoenix, literally rising from the ashes, there now stands the majestic Mill Barns.
Experts in Wedding Venues
Or, to give it it’s full ‘Facebook’ title, The Mill Barns Exclusive Use No Corkage Countryside Wedding Venue & Rooms — quite a mouth full!
You see, the people who bought the land and created Mill Barns already knew a thing or two about wedding venues, owning Pendrell Hall and The Ashes Barns.
Ensarb Estates saw the potential in the smouldering ruins of the old Mill Hotel and created The Mill Barns. They’ve since gone on to build a fourth wedding venue, Foxtail Barns, with a fifth venue, Whistle Barns, coming soon!
The collection of West Midlands wedding venues are all run under the umbrella of Best Day Ever Wedding Venues. I’m delighted to say that I was asked to be one of their recommended suppliers and how great it is to go there for Mill Barns Wedding Photography!
So, back to that rather meaty sounding Facebook page name! Well, those folk at Ensarb/Best Day Ever know a winning formula when they find one, even though the venues are all VERY different. What you get a Mill Barns (and the other venues) is basically everything they cram into the Facebook name!
Reasons to choose Mill Barns for your wedding venue:-
- Exclusive use — it’s all yours, all day!

The first three photographs are of the ceremony barn, called The Mill Wheel Barn. The last two are of The Mill Pond Barn which is where you’ll eat and party. As you can see, high ceilings, loads of light, an awesome space!

Mill Barns Wedding Photography || Elisha + Matt
These images are from the fabulous wedding of Elisha & Matt, a mid spring wedding with glorious sunshine.
Mill Barns had a dressing room, a private space for one half of the wedding party to get ready. They’re usually able to get one of the bedrooms ready for the other too, so everyone can get ready there.
Now, as a Mill Barns wedding photographer, I must admit to being slightly concerned the first time I saw the dressing room.
‘No window??!’ I thought
Why is there no window??!
But, you know what, just take a look at that huge mirror, surrounded by the kind of lights you might expect to find in a theatre dressing room. Oodles of light for getting ready and the room itself as a really cool vibe.
Mill Wheel Barn Ceremony
With everyone ready, time to say ‘I Do!’
The ceremony takes place looking out on to the mill pond, right where the old water mill used to be. With a balcony at the back it’s a great place for a second photographer to go, if you book one of my packages with two of us!
Drinks Reception over-looking the pond
After the ceremony, the Bride & Groom had a few minutes to themselves whilst the guests on the pool-side terrace, ready for confetti!
Then drinks in the sunshine.
Wedding Breakfast and Party
Then, in to the Mill Pond Barn for eating, speeches and dancing. With some of the little ones preferring to play outside instead!
If you’re looking for Mill Barns Wedding Photography, then you’re in the right place! I usually photograph a couple of weddings a year there, so I know the venue well, but it also keeps it fresh for me. Please get in touch. I’d love to have a chat!
