Mill Barns Wedding Venue

Let’s go back, waaaaay back.

Ok, not quite that far back!

About 10 years ago I remem­ber going for a fam­i­ly meal to The Mill at Alver­ley, a rather tra­di­tion­al hotel and restau­rant, which sad­ly was burnt down in an arson attack. It was the kind of place that had sil­ver ser­vice, starched uni­forms and a dessert trolley. 

It also had a lake and mature gar­dens and is less than 10 miles from Bridg­north and less than 20 miles from Wolver­hamp­ton. So a great start­ing point for a Shrop­shire wed­ding venue.

Like a phoenix, lit­er­al­ly ris­ing from the ash­es, there now stands the majes­tic Mill Barns.

Or, to give it it’s full ‘Face­book’ title, The Mill Barns Exclu­sive Use No Cork­age Coun­try­side Wed­ding Venue & Rooms — quite a mouth full!

You see, the peo­ple who bought the land and cre­at­ed Mill Barns already knew a thing or two about wed­ding venues, own­ing Pen­drell Hall and The Ash­es Barns.

Ensarb Estates saw the poten­tial in the smoul­der­ing ruins of the old Mill Hotel and cre­at­ed The Mill Barns. They’ve since gone on to build a fourth wed­ding venue, Fox­tail Barns, with a fifth venue, Whis­tle Barns, com­ing soon!

The col­lec­tion of West Mid­lands wed­ding venues are all run under the umbrel­la of Best Day Ever Wed­ding Venues. I’m delight­ed to say that I was asked to be one of their rec­om­mend­ed sup­pli­ers and how great it is to go there for Mill Barns Wed­ding Photography!

So, back to that rather meaty sound­ing Face­book page name! Well, those folk at Ensarb/Best Day Ever know a win­ning for­mu­la when they find one, even though the venues are all VERY dif­fer­ent. What you get a Mill Barns (and the oth­er venues) is basi­cal­ly every­thing they cram into the Face­book name!

The first three pho­tographs are of the cer­e­mo­ny barn, called The Mill Wheel Barn. The last two are of The Mill Pond Barn which is where you’ll eat and par­ty. As you can see, high ceil­ings, loads of light, an awe­some space!

Mill Barns Wedding Photography || Elisha + Matt

These images are from the fab­u­lous wed­ding of Elisha & Matt, a mid spring wed­ding with glo­ri­ous sunshine.

Mill Barns had a dress­ing room, a pri­vate space for one half of the wed­ding par­ty to get ready. They’re usu­al­ly able to get one of the bed­rooms ready for the oth­er too, so every­one can get ready there.

Now, as a Mill Barns wed­ding pho­tog­ra­ph­er, I must admit to being slight­ly con­cerned the first time I saw the dress­ing room.

‘No win­dow??!’ I thought

Why is there no window??!

But, you know what, just take a look at that huge mir­ror, sur­round­ed by the kind of lights you might expect to find in a the­atre dress­ing room. Oodles of light for get­ting ready and the room itself as a real­ly cool vibe.

With every­one ready, time to say ‘I Do!’

The cer­e­mo­ny takes place look­ing out on to the mill pond, right where the old water mill used to be. With a bal­cony at the back it’s a great place for a sec­ond pho­tog­ra­ph­er to go, if you book one of my pack­ages with two of us!

After the cer­e­mo­ny, the Bride & Groom had a few min­utes to them­selves whilst the guests on the pool-side ter­race, ready for confetti!

Then drinks in the sunshine.

Then, in to the Mill Pond Barn for eat­ing, speech­es and danc­ing. With some of the lit­tle ones pre­fer­ring to play out­side instead!
