What you can say about this venue.… they’ve got their own deer!! So when ShuÂla & Dan asked me to do their Deer Park Hall WedÂding PhoÂtogÂraÂphy I didÂn’t hesÂiÂtate to say YES PLEASE!!
But that’s not all.
They planned to have an outÂdoor cerÂeÂmoÂny with stunÂning views of not only the deer park but also the Malvern Hills.
In the evening they’d arranged to have a ceilidh includÂing a first dance with a difference.
And there’s more.
ShuÂla wasÂn’t going for the conÂvenÂtionÂal walk down the aisle.
Oh no, no, no, no.
She decidÂed that she was .…. wait for it.…… going to come down the aisle.….. on horseÂback!!!!
A litÂtle about the venue. Deer Park Hall is in the northÂern part of The Cotswolds, in WorcesÂterÂshire, near to the marÂket town of Pershore.
As well as havÂing their own herd of free-roamÂing red and falÂlow deer, they also have their own vineÂyard, the approÂpriÂateÂly named Stag Oak Vineyard.
They’ve got some cotÂtages at the foot of BreÂdon Hill, upon which sits the venue. One of them, The GraÂnary, is yours for two nights as part of your bookÂing so handy for getÂting ready!

Getting ready for a Deer Park Hall Wedding
I’ll come back to that juicy litÂtle equine detail latÂer on, but lets start at the beginning.
At this parÂticÂuÂlar wedÂding ShuÂla, the Bride, was getÂting ready in PerÂshore at a hotel called The Angel.

The black & white image is one of my all time favourite wedÂding phoÂtos. I wish I could rememÂber what had been said to get this reacÂtion from ShuÂla and her make up artist, Michelle G. But it cerÂtainÂly did get a reaction!
For me, this is what docÂuÂmenÂtary wedÂding phoÂtogÂraÂphy is all about.
ObservÂing, waitÂing, then capÂturÂing moments like this. To proÂduce phoÂtographs which take you right back to when they were takÂen, and how you felt.

Outdoor Wedding Photography at Deer Park Hall

ReaÂsons to choose Deer Park Hall for your wedÂding venue:-
- GloÂriÂous views across the valÂley to the Malvern Hills
- Indoor and outÂdoor cerÂeÂmoÂny spaces
- They’ve got deer!!

So, to Deer Park Hall now and their alfresÂco wedÂding with (clip clop) a rather memÂoÂrable entrance!
The indoor cerÂeÂmoÂny room at Deer Park Hall, The PanÂelled Hall, is beauÂtiÂful. But on this hot and sunÂny August day the couÂple had gone for the outÂdoor choice. Their guests sitÂting on the lawn with the cerÂeÂmoÂny itself in the GarÂden Pavilion.

A Bride Arriving on Horseback
So I menÂtioned a horse.
The Bride’s horse, brought to the venue speÂcialÂly for the ceremony.
Now I’d be assumÂing that ShuÂla had been ridÂing for years and years and years. That she’d been brought up with horsÂes, almost born in the sadle.
Hell no!
RidÂing was actuÂalÂly quite a recent pasÂtime but one she’d realÂly takÂen to, hence her four-legged friend being entrustÂed with carÂryÂing her down the aisle.

A Wedding Reception at Deer Park Hall
Drinks outÂside, then the newÂlyÂweds and I had a wanÂder, on the hunt for deer.
I menÂtioned that they’re free-roamÂing and roam they did — we had quite a hike to find them!

Then, in the evening, the Ceilidh.
I’ve done a few wedÂdings that have had one of these for parÂty and they are brilliant!
If you’re not sure about your guests getÂting up and dancÂing, book a Ceilidh!
With this one, the Bride & Groom had a first dance with a difÂferÂence. The two of them sitÂting on chairs in the midÂdle of the room whilst all their guests danced some kind of tribÂal ritÂuÂal around them.
DefÂiÂniteÂly a wedÂding to remember!
