I love a wedÂding venue that is a bit difÂferÂent from the norm, a bit unexÂpectÂed. Blue Piano WedÂding PhoÂtogÂraÂphy, in leafy EdgÂbasÂton, near BirmÂingÂham City CenÂtre, defÂiÂniteÂly comes into that catÂeÂgoÂry. In a loveÂly EdwarÂdian buildÂing it’s a bar & restauÂrant with rooms with courtÂyard garÂden at the rear.

A Wedding Venue in the heart of Edgbaston
The Blue Piano is rather decepÂtive, a bit like the Tardis! From the front, you see the gorÂgeous EdwarÂdian frontage but wouldÂn’t know that inside it has varÂiÂous difÂferÂent rooms in the restauÂrant, a bar and pretÂty large courtÂyard garÂden at the back. It also has bedÂrooms upstairs and that’s where CatherÂine got ready. Before boardÂing a vinÂtage douÂble-deckÂer for the short jourÂney to St Augustine’s Church.
CatherÂine & Joe’s wedÂding was one of the many that gat delayed by covid and they even endÂed up changÂing venues. But they realÂly lucked out with the change and it gave me a chance to expeÂriÂence Blue Piano WedÂding Photography!
St Augustine’s Edgbaston, Birmingham Wedding Photography
In Church terms, St Augustine’s is a relÂaÂtiveÂly modÂern church, built in 1868. It’s stunÂning inside and realÂly light and airy. With the Bride on her way, Joe and the guests took their seats inside!
Then everyÂone jumped onto the bus to head back for the recepÂtion and some Blue Piano WedÂding PhoÂtogÂraÂphy! A vinÂtage douÂble deckÂer bus is a great way to travÂel between the church and wedÂding recepÂtion as you get to be with all of your guests.
Blue Piano Wedding Reception
CatherÂine and Joe had a guy playÂing a steel drum outÂside in the courtÂyard and lots of the guests joined in! The music soundÂed great and the audiÂence parÂticÂiÂpaÂtion was amazing!
Then, after the food, dessert was from an ice cream van which they’d arranged to visÂit the Blue Piano! Who doesÂn’t like getÂting a 99 to eat on a hot day!
SpeechÂes were outÂside in the courtÂyard too. Then it was time to parÂty! Their band was under the covÂer to one side of the courtÂyard with the dancÂing out in the open.
